Dean, Sims, and Smith Win in Longview Election
(Longview, TX) Unofficial election results for the City of Longview show Jay Dean, John Sims, and Gary Smith as winners of the races for Longview Mayor, City Council District 1, and City Council District 2, respectively. Election results will become official upon canvassing at the Longview City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m., May 17, 2012. Unofficial results are as follows:
Longview Mayor (All Longview)
Tammy Barnes: 204 votes with 9.6%
Jay Dean: 1,922 votes with 90.4%
City Council District 1 (West Longview)
David Sparks: 89 votes with 27.22%
John Sims: 188 votes with 57.49%
Samantha Clark: 50 votes with 15.29%
City Council District 2 (Southwest Longview)
Gary Smith: 104 votes with 100%.
