Partners in Prevention
Partners in Prevention strives to include all sectors of the community in creating a better Longview through community mobilization, collaboration, and community coalitions. Partners in Prevention offers multiple opportunities for volunteers and community members to come to the planning table, and engage with others, to address community barriers of poverty, race relations, underage drinking, marijuana use, and prescription drug abuse. Partners in Prevention also offers one-to-one mentoring relationships with elementary, middle, and high school students in the greatest need with caring adult mentors. With well over 250 partners, Partners in Prevention is inspiring hope, connecting partners and building trusting relationships that transforms lives.
Coalition for Drug-Free Youth– The Coalition for Drug-Free Youth is a collaboration of organizations and citizens working to reduce crime and youth substance use through community mobilization to change attitudes, behaviors and regulations to create a healthier community and protect our youth.
Longview Bridges Out of Poverty– The mission of Longview Bridges Out of Poverty is to eradicate and alleviate poverty through awareness, education and collaborative efforts in the community.
Mentoring Programs– Forever Friends and Co-Pilots provides 1-to-1 mentoring to youth in need of a caring adult role model in the Longview, Pine Tree, Spring Hill, Kilgore and Hallsville Independent School Districts.
Unity and Diversity Committee– The Unity and Diversity Committee seeks to overcome barriers to the full inclusion of all community members by protecting human rights, challenging discrimination, and celebrating diversity and commonality.
