In 2012, LFD formally attained the vacated Armory building. This building became the home of the department’s Training Section. The facility provides classrooms for fire and emergency medical continuing education training with four separate classroom areas, as well as a large open area for accommodating up to 300 people. This facility additionally serves as an alternate Emergency Operations Center for use during large-scale disasters affecting the community.
