Crimes Against Property

The Crimes Against Property section is responsible for all property crimes against property. This section consists of six detectives that conduct follow-up investigations of property related crimes, to include:
  • Burglary
  • Theft
  • Vehicle Burglary
  • Criminal Mischief
  • Criminal Trespass
  • Fraud
  • Forgery
  • Credit Card Abuse

Sergeant Shannon Purdon is the supervisor for the Crimes Against Property Section. Sergeant Shannon Purdon has been in Law Enforcement for approximately 17 years. He holds a Master Peace Officers License; has been a Certified Intoxilyzer Operator for 12 years, a certified Taser Instructor for 5 years, and a certified TCOLE Instructor for over 5 years. He began his career at Daingerfield PD, went to the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and was assigned to the Morris County DA’s Office as a Narcotics Investigator before coming to work for the Longview Police Department.  While at LPD, he has been a patrol Officer, a Field Training Officer, Patrol Supervisor, 3rd Watch FTO Supervisor, and Reserves Supervisor.  He is currently the Sergeant over Property Crimes.
