Internships
Have you always wondered what it's like to work in a library? Do you want to start building your resume and make your college applications stand out? Are you between the age of 13-18? If so, the Longview Public Library Teen Intern Program may be just right for you!
As a Teen Intern here at the Library, your first priority is helping the Children's Staff shelve materials as they are turned in. However, there are many other things that you'll help us with, including: keeping a count of patrons who attend programs, helping to clean the Children's Department, helping to prepare crafts for weekly story times, helping with Library events, and lots more! How do I become a Teen Intern?
- Download and print the Teen Intern Application and fill it out.
- Return the application to Ms. Mackenzie in person or by email.
- Ms. Mackenzie will set up an Interview time with you either in person or by phone or email.
- Please allow at least an hour for your interview.
- Before the interview, Ms. Mackenzie will give you a tour of the Children's and Young Adult areas so that you can get a feel for them.
- You will then go through a very short interview and be given a small cart of books to put in order correctly so that you can familiarize yourself with our labeling systems.
- Within 24 hours, you will be notified by either Ms. Mackenzie or Ms. Jenn if you have been accepted into the program.
