Who Are The Friends of the Longview Public Library?


They are a non-profit organization established to support the programs and services of the Longview Public Library. 

What Do The Friends Do?


The Friends encourage the love of books for a lifetime of reading pleasure. They believe active learning is a process of discovery, which helps inspire imagination and creativity in our wonderful community. Specifically, they assist with funding, promoting, and volunteering at the Library’s various activities, including events such as: Book Fairs, Author Visits, Chautauqua Festival, Haunted Library, Summer Reading Club, and so much more!
They also help the Library purchase current, modern technology, allowing us to offer our patrons the very best services possible.

How Do I Join The Friends?


The Friends would absolutely love to have you!
Simply fill out a membership application at the Longview Public Library and give it and the appropriate check (see membership pricing options below) to one of our friendly librarians.
To meet the Friends and learn more about their wonderful organization, please consider attending their next meeting.

Friends Book Sales

The Friends plan and operate book sales throughout the year!

Incoming patron donations are sorted and placed aside to sell to the public.
Any profit or funds will be collected by the Friends, and used to buy valuable resources for the Library, and help sponsor the events we hold for our patrons!

Pricing:
Everything is $1.00 (excludes as marked items and vintage/rare print books, or specially marked promos)
Cash, check, and charge accepted.

Date and hours are subject to change each sale due to the volunteer nature of the operations.

Book Tower Sales

The Library has three Book Tower/Carousels in the foyer entry with books available for purchase year-round.
All items cost $1.25 (unless marked otherwise) and can be purchased at the library front desk.

Books/movies are always changing, so be sure to take a look on your next visit!
