What is Spring Break @ LPL?


Spring Break @ LPL is a week during every March that's packed full of free activities each day for kids of all ages!
We schedule this event during Spring Break to provide area children a safe place to have fun and learn with their friends.

Spring Break @ LPL 2022 Schedule:

March 14 - 19, All events free to attend!


​March 14

  • Music & Movement (All ages)
    10:30 AM
    Join us for a Spring Break-sized Music & Movement class to start the week off!

    Children ages 0-5, along with their caregivers, join us for early exposure to music!
    Have fun singing, dancing, listening to a story, and interacting with different instruments!
    Program lasts about 30 minutes.


  • Gamester's Paradise Bus (Ages 8 -18)
    2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
    The Gamester's Paradise bus will be outside on the plaza for free gameplay time. While you're waiting, a Super Smash Bros. tournament will be held inside.
    Wristbands for play time will be given out first come first serve starting 2:00 PM, gameplay starts at 2:30 PM. We do recommend you getting here early if you want to be among the first to get on the bus. However, the bands will not be given out before 2:00 PM.
    Even if you all are not among the first to get the wristbands, please do not worry. We will be able to work everyone on the bus before the end of the day!
  • Super Smash Bros. Tournament (Ages 8 -18)
    2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
    Come play a few rounds of Nintendo’s hit beat-em-up fighting game: Super Smash Bros. while you wait for your turn on the Gamester’s Paradise Bus!
    Rotating tournament style. Just sign up at the Moeschle Room entrance and wait for your turn. Winner gets the crown and keeps playing! Once you’re done you can sign up to play again.

  • Story Time and Crafts2Go Longview Convention Complex (Maude Cobb)*
    10:30 AM
    Spring Break Tuesday is all about having some family time!

    Stop by the Longview Convention Complex - Maude Cobb for a fun, interactive Story Time at 10:30 AM.
    We'll have all sorts of songs, dances, and exercises to keep your child's mind active and engaged!
    Plus, there will be Crafts2Go kits for you to take home and work on together.

  • Family Bingo at Longview Convention Complex (Maude Cobb)*
    2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
    Drop in for a round of family bingo!
    Hopefully your card spells out the lucky word and you might win a prize!
    All Ages.

  • Performer Day: The Story Lady at Longview Convention Complex (Maude Cobb)*
    Two shows. 10:30 AM & 6:00 PM
    The always popular Story Lady returns to treat us to a Spring Break show!
    If you've never seen a Story Lady show, you're in for a treat.
    She always manages to weave a fun, high-energy, interactive tale that promotes activity, development, learning!
    Plus, there will be two showings to attend this year. 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM.
    Cater to your schedule accordingly, or catch both!

    Held at the Longview Convention Complex - Maude Cobb. FREE to attend. All ages welcome.

  • Movie Night: "Encanto" (PG)
    10:30 AM 
    Grab some snacks, get cozy, and join us to watch family friendly movies at The Longview Convention Complex - Maude Cobb!
    The first movie will be ”Encanto” (PG) at 10:30 AM.
    In the Madrigal family, each child is blessed by the magic of their home Encanto, and receives a unique gift. Everyone but Mirabel, who soon learns that the magic of Encanto is in danger, and she might be everyone's last hope to save it!
    We know you've probably seen it 12 times now, but it's SO GOOD! Come watch and see why "we don't talk about Bruno!"

  • Family Movie Day:  "Turning Red" (PG)
    6:00 PM
    The second movie will be Disney Pixar’s “Turning Red” (PG) at 6:00 PM.
    Mei Lee is a 13-year-old girl who is torn between being her mother's obedient daughter and the chaos of her youth. As if that were not enough, when she gets too excited, she turns into a big red panda! This will be Disney/Pixar's latest release. Come see it so you can tell all your friends/family about it!

    A limited quantity of free popcorn will be available at each show. Feel free to bring in some snacks, and blankets/jackets.

​March 18

  • Take & Make Craft Time!
    Offered all day while supplies last
    Stop by the youth services desk to pick up a craft kit to work on at the youth tables, or take them home to work on!
    Offered all day, while supplies last.

    There are some cute projects to do. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for a preview during the week of Spring Break!

  • Library After Dark - Teen Night! (Ages 13-18)
    6:00 PM - 12:00 AM

    The library is open just for teens during our Library After Dark party!
    Always a popular event, we’ll have pizza and snacks to start off. Then have fun games and activities (like Hide & Seek in the dark library!) for the rest of the evening.
    We'll round out the evening with rounds of LASER TAG all throughout the empty library!!
    Teens won't want to miss this one!
    ** Parents/Guardians are responsible for arranging transportation and pick-up of teens. Staff cannot transport teens.

​March 19

  • LEGO-A-THON
    10:00 AM - 5:30 PM
    A marathon LEGO build will be going on all day here at the library.
    Children of all ages are invited to come and build anything their imagination can think of!
    DUPLO blocks available for smaller children as well.
    One LEGO set will also be raffled off every hour during the event duration!!!
