What is Spring Break @ LPL?
Spring Break @ LPL is a week during March that's packed full of free activities each day for kids of all ages!
We schedule this event during Spring Break to provide area children a safe place to have fun and learn with their friends.

March 13
- Music & Movement - Spring Fling!
10:30 AM
** Held at Broughton Branch Library / Broughton Recreation Center
Join us for a Spring Break-sized Music & Movement session to start the week off!
Recommended for ages 0 - 6, join us for a special celebration of Spring, with lots of games and movement based activities and exercises. Afterwards, you can go play in the park for a day out!
Program lasts about 30 minutes. - Super Smash Bros. Tournament (Ages 8 -18)
2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
** Held at the Longview Public Library
Gamer enthusiast, come play a few rounds of Nintendo’s hit beat-em-up fighting game: Super Smash Bros.!
This will be rotating tournament style. Just sign up at the Moeschle Room entrance and wait for your turn.
Winner gets the crown and keeps playing! Once you’re done you can sign up to play again.
March 14
- Family Movie Day / Night
- 10:30 AM - "LEGO STAR WARS" - Interactive Show
- 6:00 PM - TBA - Regular Show
** Held at Longview Convention Complex - Maude Cobb
Join us for family-friendly Movie Day!
We'll have a special interactive show at 10:30 AM where kids get a goodie bag filled with interactive materials to use during key parts of the film.
A regular, standard show will be held at 6:00 PM.
Both screenings are free to attend.
Limited amounts of popcorn will be served. Feel free to bring your own snacks!

March 15
- Brett Roberts Amazing Bubble Show!
2:00 PM
** Held at Lear Park during the Kite Festival hosted by Longview Parks and Recreation.
Kite Festival will run from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
We always like to have a fun, local performer come and put on a show.
And Brett Roberts, bubble magician and children's comedian, is one of our fan-favorite performers!
Be amazed by the astounding things he can do with bubbles, and learn a few things in the process!
This show will be held at Lear Park, during the Kite Festival hosted by the Longview Parks and Recreation department. The Kite Festival will have all sorts of activity booths, vendors, and food trucks to visit, so definitely plan for a day out (bring your kites and sunscreen)! The Bubble Show will start at 2:00 PM.
Festival and show are FREE to attend. All ages welcome.
March 16
- STORY TIME! and Crafts2Go

Spring Break is all about having some family time!
Stop by the Longview Convention Complex - Maude Cobb for a fun, interactive Story Time at 10:30 AM.
We'll sing all sorts of songs, dance, and exercise to keep young minds active and engaged.
Take a craft2go kit with you and work on them anytime you want!
Free to attend, recommended for ages 0 - 6.

Drop in for a round of Family Bingo at the newly renovated Broughton Recreation Center!
If your cards are lucky, you might win a prize!
All ages, free to attend.
March 17
- Take & Make Craft Time and Art Class!
Offered all day while supplies last
At the Library
Stop by the youth services desk to pick up a craft kit to work on at the youth tables, or take them home to work on! Craft kits are offered all day, while supplies last. - Art Class Adventures!

At the Library
We're planning a hands-on day of arts and crafts!
Kids can enjoy Story Time elements (reading from a book, or singing a song for inspiration) as they complete a special art project.
Recommended for ages 0-8. All supplies provided. Free to attend.
We'll have two sessions for the day. The first one at 10:30 AM, the second one at 3:00 PM.

- Library After Dark - Teen Night! (Ages 13-18)
6:00 PM - 12:00 AM
At the Library
The library is open just for teens during our Library After Dark party!
Always a popular event, we’ll have pizza and snacks to start off.
Afterwards, teen can play some of our many game offerings (board games, card games, video games, etc.) and participate in arts/crafts activities while socializing with others. PLUS, we might play some laser tag, and Hide-And-Seek in the dark in the empty library!!
** Parents/Guardians are responsible for arranging transportation and pick-up of teens.
Staff cannot transport teens.
March 18
- LEGO-A-THON
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
At the Library
A marathon LEGO build will be going on all day here at the library.
Children of all ages are invited to come and build anything their imagination can think of!
DUPLO blocks available for smaller children as well.
One LEGO set will also be raffled off every hour during the event duration!!!
We also have a special LEGO Star Wars set that we need your help building!
Starting on Tuesday (March 14), call 903-237-1345 to sign up for a time block and help us work on the set.
It's a great family/friend activity! Afterwards, the completed set will be on display at the library.
