The purpose of the Longview Police Department Teen Police Academy is educate students on the organization of the Department, requirements and steps for becoming a Police Officer, hands-on exercises and discussion concerning safety, laws and an Officer’s perspective and professionalism.
In this hands-on class, you’ll learn about:

- Traffic Procedures
- Handcuffing
- Physical Evidence Specialists
- Finger Printing
- Social Media
- SWAT demo at the Range
- Driving Simulator
- and much more!
The Teen Police Academy is held once a year and is free to the student. We will provide you with notebooks and any other supplies needed. Refreshments will also be provided for each class. Class size is limited to 45 students.
Next Class - Application Deadline May 27, 2022
Classes will be held, 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 7 - 30 at the Longview Police Department in the Roy Stone Training Center, 302 W. Cotton St.
