Task Force on Homelessness

In March 2017, Longview Mayor Andy Mack formed the Mayor's Task Force on Homelessness with a goal of decreasing the number of homeless in Longview; not by moving them out, but by giving them hope and a chance for a future. Mayor Mack stated that "we have a moral obligation to help those who are less fortunate."

Current Needs 

Longview is a caring and compassionate community with many resources available for the homeless individuals. Through a collaborative effort of multiple organizations and individuals, the Mayor’s Task Force on Homelessness created a game plan for reduce homelessness in Longview through an approach that seeks to direct individuals to available resources.

If you have a passion for alleviating homelessness, you are encouraged to get involved by giving, advocating, or volunteering directly with one of the several related nonprofit agencies in Longview or by giving to the City of Longview’s Go Giver Fund.

     Homeless Resource Day Crowd 2018The Homeless Resource Day is a collaborative effort of the City of Longview and various non-profit organizations to help meet the needs of the homeless.
