On July 21, 2017 at approximately 1207 p.m. the Longview Fire Department responded to 1501 E. Whaley, Churchill of Longview Apartments, for a reported fire. Units arrived and found that there had been a fire in the kitchen that was extinguished by the fire sprinkler system. There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire was attributed to unattended cooking. Four occupants were displaced by the fire and will be staying with relatives.
