The Longview Police Department responded to the 4300 block of Price Ln. in Longview Texas on August 11, 2017 at 6:20 AM to serve a warrant. The suspect identified as Estevan Olvera Jr. of Longview began fighting and resisting arrest. Officer Zachary Atkinson was injured in the assault. He was transported to Longview Regional Hospital where he is being treated for serious bodily injuries, that are not life threatening.
Olvera was arrested for: Evading Arrest and Detention, Misdemeanor A; Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transport Misdemeanor A; Assault on a Public Servant, Felony 3; and six outstanding warrants.
