Over the weekend the Longview Fire Department responded to multiple structure fire calls. The first structure fire was reported on October 13, 2017 at approximately 11pm in the 1400 block of Gay Avenue. Four Firefighters were injured during the fire, two were taken to a local emergency room for treatment and the other two were treated on scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. On October 15, 2017 at approximately 1130am the Longview Fire Department responded to 315 Whatley Road for a hazardous material fire in an out-building at the Alpha-Omega Recycling Plant. Crews were able to contain the fire to the materials on fire only and no structures were damaged. On October 16, 2017 at approximately 1230am crews responded to 4307 Thistlebrook Lane. Upon arrival they found there had been a fire on the back porch of the residence and the homeowner had extinguished the fire with a garden hose. The fire was determined to have been caused by a faulty ceiling fan.
