Bond election features public safety, streets, and parks

City of Longview voters will consider three separate propositions related to public safety facilities, streets and infrastructure, and parks as part of a bond election on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Voting will be held in conjunction with the general November elections taking place at various polling locations established by Gregg County and Harrison County. Early voting will be held October 22 – November 2. Election Day voting will be 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 6. 

In Proposition A, voters will consider for or against the issuance of $52,410,000 tax bonds for constructing, renovating, and equipping police and fire stations, and relocating the fire and police training center and emergency operations center and levying the tax in payment thereof. 

In Proposition B, voters will consider for or against the issuance of $27,090,000 tax bonds for street and road improvements and other related improvements and levying the tax in payment thereof. 

In Proposition C, voters will consider for or against the issuance of $24,710,000 for improvements and additions to city parks, including trails, playing fields, and other sports and recreational facilities and levying the tax in payment thereof.
