Curbside recycling unavailable November 5 - 8

Curbside recycling services will not be available in Longview during the week of November 5 – 8, 2018. The change to regular recycling service is due to scheduled maintenance at Rivers Recycling, which is the local material recovery facility. During that time, contents from curbside recycling carts will be taken to the landfill with regular trash rather than being recycled. If customers prefer, they may choose to hold their recycling, until the week of November 12 - 15, including any excess recyclables that cannot fit inside the cart.

According to Longview Sanitation Manager Todd Gibbs, “We appreciate the efforts of residents who choose to recycling. We are hopeful that the maintenance at Rivers Recycling will be completed quickly and that regular curbside recycling will resume the following week.”

Trash collection, yard waste collection, bulky item pickup, and the compost site will continue to operate as normal during this time. For more information about recycling in Longview, please visit or call 903-237-1250.
