When Officers arrived at the scene they were told that the driver of a 1996 blue Chevrolet Caprice was traveling Northbound on Pine Tree Road and lost control of the vehicle. The car left the roadway and collided with a utility pole and a tree. The driver, identified as Markus Glenn Edmond 24, of Longview, and a passenger in the vehicle 24 year-old Phillip Hudson III were transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. A second passenger in the car, identified as 24 year-old Luster Laray Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
