On Thursday September 19, 2019 about 5 p.m. the Longview Fire Department deployed two additional personnel to assist with water related rescue due to the extreme flooding conditions along the Texas coast and surrounding areas. The personnel deployed in Booster 4 as a TIFMAS All-Hazard group. This apparatus will allow for water rescues to take place in standing water as high as two feel deep. The Longview Fire Department has deployed eight personnel to date to assists with emergency operations.
On September 17, 2019 the Longview Fire Department activated six members of the water rescue team to be deployed with the Texas Task Force. This deployment is in response to the tropical storms expected to make landfall in Texas this week. The six member team will travel to College Station for staging and from there they will respond where needed.
