[ARCHIVED] Registration Open for Back in Time Scavenger Hunt

The City of Longview Partners in Prevention will host the first annual scavenger hunt, Back in Time, to commemorate Longview’s sesquicentennial and to benefit the Partners in Prevention Mentoring Program.  Teams of four will explore historical landmarks in downtown Longview, answer trivia, and complete photo challenges to complete tasks based on clues all within 90 minutes.  Team members will learn about Longview through an app on their smart phone while engaging in a fun competition.

Kendrah Tennison, Mentor Engagement Coordinator, states, “The Back in Time Scavenger Hunt is a fun activity for all ages.  Teams can be made up of family members, corporate teams, youth groups, school groups, or friends.  Groups can complete the search together or separately, but will be scored as a team. If you don’t have a group you are still encouraged to sign up and play as participants signing up individually will be registered with others to create teams as well. Having fun is the goal while supporting young people in our community through mentoring.”

The Scavenger Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 18, and will begin with check-in at 12:30 p.m. The 90-minute hunt will start at 1:30 p.m. at Heritage Plaza, 219 E. Methvin St. in Longview.  Teams or individuals can register online for a fee of $10 per person or $40 for a team of four.  In order to participate, at least one team member must have a smartphone in order to download the scavenger hunt app.  For more information, call 903-237-1019.
