On Friday, June 26, Texas. Gov. Greg Abbott issued Executive Order GA-28 to help contain the spread of COVID-19. The order reduced some services and businesses across the state as the number of infections and hospitalizations from the disease have increased in recent days.
"With cases continuing to rise throughout the state, I encourage everyone to take the precautions seriously and follow the Governor’s guidelines. Let’s all do our part for the health of the Longview community," Longview Mayor Andy Mack said.
- Reduces dine-in restaurant capacities back to 50% beginning Monday, June 29
- Recloses bars at noon today, June 26, except for drive-thru, pickup or delivery options
- Prohibits outdoor gatherings of more than 100 people unless approved by the mayor of a city or the county judge for an unincorporated area, with exceptions
- Closes rafting and tubing services, including the rental of rafts or tubes
