UPDATE: This release was updated on Aug. 7 with information regarding the timeliness of test results.
Free COVID-19 testing at the Agricultural Pavilions at the Longview Convention Complex, 100 Grand Blvd. Drive-up testing will occur from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Monday through Saturday and is expected to continue until further notice.
The testing will be conducted by private vendor Honu on behalf of the Texas Division of Emergency Management and the City of Longview and Gregg County Emergency Management.
This is not an antibody test.
The drive-up testing is free to the public, and organizers are preparing to conduct about 300 tests daily. Registration will be available online or in person.
A person does not need to have symptoms to be tested, but should bring some form of identification and have a phone number or email address available where they can receive their results. Those participating are asked to enter the Longview Convention Complex from the 100 Grand Blvd. entrance and follow the signs to the testing area.
Update on Aug. 7 Regarding Timeliness of Test Results:
The Texas Division of Emergency Management, Gregg County, and the City of Longview are aware that although some participants received their test results quickly from the Longview testing location, there are some who have not received results in a timely manner.
The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) has contacted the vendor, Honu, to inquire into this matter and has learned that the vendor has identified and corrected issues that prevented some individuals from receiving their test results once tests were processed at the lab. The vendor has been working to update their system to ensure that this issue does not happen again. The vendor is also working to notify individuals who were tested of their results.
Participants who have questions regarding pending test results are encouraged to contact Honu at email@example.com or call 1-844-778-2455.
