(Longview, TX) Plans are taking shape for the 2015 edition of Longview’s annual July 4 Freedom and Fireworks Celebration. Legendary Texas singer songwriter Delbert McClinton will headline an outdoor free-to-the-public concert to be held just before the biggest fireworks show in East Texas. The event will be held at the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Complex, located at 100 Grand Blvd on Saturday, July 4, 2015.
This year, one focus of the event will be to bring awareness to the Miracle League of East Texas and their current efforts to construct a universally accessible baseball field at Lear Park. Various activities throughout the event will highlight the volunteers and patrons of the Miracle League.
In addition to the concert, many other activities are scheduled throughout the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Complex as part of the July 4th Fireworks and Freedom Celebration. Activities include children’s activities, multicultural stage, motorcycle parade, All-American car show and parade, roller derby, food, beverages, and vendors. Children’s activities include a water spray, foam play area, amusement rides, and more.
Admission to the festival, concert, and fireworks show is free to the public; however, prices vary for individual activities and rides. Community groups and vendors are encouraged to be a part of the event. For vendor and sponsorship information, please contact the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Complex at 903-237-1230.
