The Texas Association of Metal Detecting Clubs will hold a Metal Detecting, Artifacts, Relics & Coin Show at Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Complex, April 9-10, 2016. Members from Metal Detecting Clubs from around Texas will display relics, jewelry, bottles, marbles, coins and other items they have found from old homesteads, Ghost Towns, the Civil War and other places, while enjoying the hobby of metal detecting. Attendees can meet and visit with several historians, authors, and TV personalities including author and PhD Jeff Broome, famous treasure hunter W.C. Jameson, George Wyant and Tim Saylor from The Diggers, and YouTube personality and treasure hunter Michael Bennet aka Nugget Noggin. Manufacturers will be there to share information on the latest metal detectors and accessories. There will be free seminars for adults and activities for the kids such as a sandbox with buried treasures, gold-panning and several other activities. Doors are open to the public 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $2.00 per person, per day. Children 12 and under are free. Admission for TAMDC members is $2 for both days, membership card must be presented. Admission collected will be donated to a local charity, tbd.
