On March 1, 2016, the Gregg County Organized Drug Enforcement Unit, with assistance from Longview Police executed a narcotics search warrant at 605 Martin Luther King Boulevard. During the search officers located a large quantity of suspected crack cocaine, individually packaged for sale in the toilet. It appeared that one of the suspects, later identified as 43 year-old Teresa Ann-Margaret Bean, of Longview, attempted to flush the narcotics down the toilet before officers could retrieve it. Officers also located cash and a prohibited firearm in the house.
Police arrested Bean on charges of Man/Del Controlled Substance PG 1 >=4<200, Tampering/Fabricating Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair, Prohibited Weapon, and two outstanding Class C misdemeanor warrants. The male suspect, identified as 55 year-old Gerald Dwayne Templeton, of Longview, was arrested for Man/Del Controlled Substance PG 1 >=4<200, Prohibited Weapon, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Both suspects were transported to the Gregg County Jail without incident.
