[ARCHIVED] Chautauqua Festival 2023 at the Library!

A white tent sails high for the library's annual Sha Talk Wa Festival in April!

The Longview Public Library’s cultural festival, Chautauqua (“she-tauk-wa”), returns this spring!
This FREE event is all about celebrating the rich, diverse culture that Longview and East Texas has to offer.
Including live music & performances, local authors, artists, craft activities, art projects, artisans, food trucks, face-painting, and so much more!
We hold the festival just outside the library front doors on the Eastman Library Plaza so everyone can enjoy the fresh air and walk around to see the vendors and performers.
Just like they did back in the early 20th centuries!
Plan to join us on Saturday, April 15 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM!

Here's a glance at the 2023 Schedule of Performances & Speakers:
10:00 AM - 10:30 AM
- Birch Beatles of Birch Elementary School.
10:30 AM - 11:00 AM
- Jolly Roger Jam Band of Parkway Elementary School.
11:00 AM - 11:30 AM
- Spring Hill Roaring Chorus.
11:30 AM - 12:00 PM
- Local Author Panel, featuring: Savanna Loy, Dot McCoy Horne, and Gene Gallien.
12:00 PM - 12:30 PM
- Andrew Duncalfe, singer, songwriter.
12:30 PM - 1:00 PM
- Baking with Barbara McClellan (local columnist and cook-book author).
1:00 PM - 1:30 PM
- The Down Home Cloggers.
1:30 PM - 2:00 PM
- Low D, Saxophone player.
In addition to these performers, you will find lots of crafts and activities to do around the plaza at various booths.
The Circle S Ranch Petting Zoo will be set up near the library plaza.
The Safety City Mini-Park across the street (Cotton) from the library/city hall will be open for kids to explore!

Registering for vendor booth space is officially open!
Rent a 10’x10’ booth space for $20.00 to promote and sell your books, photography, art, crafts, etc.
Vendors will need to provide their own tables, chairs, and displays.
A tent is strongly considered for sun protection, but also be mindful of windy conditions, and having ways to secure your tent and displays.
There is a limited number of sites available with outlets for electricity.
As soon as you register, please contact Bronwyn at (903) 237-1351 or to request an area with electricity.

You can also view all the Vendor Rules & Guidelines for the event.

Additionally, you can visit the library's Chautauqua web page for details:
Please let us know if you have any questions and we look forward to seeing everyone under the tents!
