On June 16, 2023, at approximately 6:35 p.m. the Longview Fire Department responded to 2114 East Marshall Ave, Apt. 101, for a reported residential structure fire. When fire department crews arrived they reported flames visible inside the apartment. Crews began an interior fire attack and kept the fire from spreading to the adjacent units. The fire was contained to the bedroom with smoke damage only to the rest of the apartment. There was no one home at the time of the fire. One civilian did sustain an injury when he was attempting to make sure there was no one in the apartment. The civilian was treated on scene. The American Red Cross was notified to offer assistance to the two occupants. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The fire department responded with three fire engines, two ladder trucks, two ambulance and four support vehicles.
