The City of Longview’s Parks and Recreation department will host its first annual Haunted Trail event for the community this weekend.
Scheduled from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, the ticketed event will take attendees through a decorated trail in the wooded area between Jack Mann Splash Pad and KidsView Playground. The trail will be packed with decorations, displays and special guests hidden amongst the trees. Yard games, vendors, a free hayride and photo ops will be available as well.
The natural, earth trail does not follow a straight path and will travel through forested terrain in low lighting. Some areas of the trail wind in various directions and levels, thus appropriate footwear is recommended. Arrows along the trail will direct attendees and staff will be present at the beginning and end of the trail.
Although all ages are welcome to attend, children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No motorized scooters/bikes, roller-skates/blades, hoverboards, one wheels, or skateboards are permitted.
Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased online or onsite until 9 p.m. the day of the event. Presale tickets will be given priority entry. Cash is preferred for day-of ticket purchases; however, card payments will be accepted at Jack Mann Splash Pad. Additionally, concessions will be available at the splash pad. Parking will be available at both KidsView parking lots.
This is the first time the City of Longview or the Parks department has hosted an event of this kind and we encourage all to join us for a frightfully fun adventure.
