The City of Longview Environmental Health Department will hold an Environmental Crimes Enforcement Conference in the Eitelman Room at Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Complex, September 15-16, 2016, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. each day. The training is free and open to the public, especially law enforcement officers and anyone wanting to learn more about investigating illegal dumping, solid waste dumping, oil and gas dumping and tires. Thursday's instructor, John Ockels, wrote the state manual on code compliance for officers. Thursday's session will deal primarily with illegal dumping and Friday's session will cover code violation prosecution, right-of-entry on private property, health and safety, and other realated issues.
