At or around 04:38 this morning fire crews responded to a structure fire at 1606 Oden Street. On arrival, fire crews found heavy fire in the attic and two of the bedrooms. The fire was called in by a citizen in the area. The home was not insured; the Red Cross was contracted and responded to provide assistance to the three adults that resided at the home. The cause of the fire was linked back to an earlier electrical issue from approximately 10:57 pm the previous night. The electrical panel had two breakers in the tripped position, the main breaker was tuned off and the cellulose insulation was removed from the area of the attic that surrounded the lighting fixture in the master bedroom. It appears that a hidden ember possibly continued to grow to point that the surrounding attic materials ignited. The occupants were not in the home at the time of the fire.
