[ARCHIVED] Partners in Prevention Hosts FAFSA Workshops

Cap and money

Partners in Prevention’s Longview Bridges Out of Poverty Steering Committee will host Form Your Future FAFSA Workshops to assist individuals and families in completing the FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid, in order to seek financial assistance for attending a higher education facility. Trained volunteers, led by Marilyn Richardson, will be available to assist individuals and families with the application process.  Ms. Richardson has over 30 years experience in assisting students in completing the FAFSA.

Holly Fuller, Partners in Prevention Manager, states, “The Texas Association of Developing Colleges assisted thousands of students in completing their FAFSA.  When the organization closed, we quickly realized this would create a gap in our community for those wanting to pursue higher education.  Mentors in the Partners in Prevention’s mentoring program, encourages students to complete high school with a plan for the future.  The Longview Bridges Out of Poverty Steering Committee understands that one of the key factors of avoiding poverty is education.  It seemed to be a natural fit for us to organize Form Your Future FAFSA Workshops.  We have partnered with the Longview Public Library, Junior League of Longview, Greater Longview United Way and others to host the workshops.”
