STOP the BLEED is national campaign led by the federal government to better prepare the public to save lives. Victims can quickly die from uncontrolled bleeding, within 5 to 10 minutes, so the campaign raises awareness of basic actions to stop life threatening bleeding following everyday emergencies and man-made and natural disasters. Similar to how the general public learns and performs CPR, the idea is that the public must learn proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use their hands, dressings, and tourniquets.

We welcome parents and caregivers of infants and toddlers to come sing songs, and popular nursery rhymes, together! A simple story geared towards the children's age group will be read aloud. Physical interaction is extremely important in the early stages of child development, and this story time not only encourages adult/child interaction, but also builds the healthy habit of reading aloud to your child. Due to the short attention spans of this young age group, this story time will last about 20 minutes, with time for caregivers to socialize together afterwards while children play with toys that are provided.
Story time begins promptly every Tuesday at 10:30 AM!

After a long day at school, Discovery Kids is a time for children of all ages at the Broughton Recreation Center to gather around and hear a newly-published, popular chapter book read aloud while enjoying a small after-school snack. The time frame for the this story time is about 20 minutes every Wednesday at 4:00 PM!

Tickets bought before the selected day of the event will have line priority access. But, tickets can be purchased the day of as well. All ticketed patrons be sure to arrive before 7:00 PM to guarantee entry.
All ages welcome, but we do aim to scare at this haunted house! There's lot's of high impact scares, and frightening props/imagery.
So, parents be advised, we recommend ages 10+.

Children ages 0-5, along with their caregivers, join us every Monday at 10:30 AM for early exposure to music! Have fun singing, dancing, listening to a story, and interacting with our new instruments! Program lasts about 30 minutes.
Thanks to a grant from an anonymous donor, we have a brand new digital piano to accompany our story times! We also have new hand drums, triangles, xylophones, and harmonicas to share and learn about, as well as all the wonderful instruments we used last year. So come check them out!
