    The Friends of the Longview Public Library will present a Texas Humanities Exhibit: "The Way Things Were: Texas Settlers and their buildings, 1860s-1930s" from Jan. 13 to Feb. 9 in conjunction with the City of Longview's Sesquicentennial Celebration.

Fire Department

  1. Fire Pole Removal - Old Fire Station 3

    January 13, 2020, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM @ Old Fire Station 3

    The Longview Fire Department will remove a brass fire pole from the old Fire Station 3 at 610 Mobberly Ave. at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13. The pole will be showcased at the Longview Fire Department Training Facility until is included in the construction of a new, two-story Station 7 at 2811 Gilmer Road, approved by voters as part of the 2018 bond election. Old Fire Station 3 was originally built in 1936 following a bond election in 1935. Fire Station 1 in downtown Longview currently maintains three working fire pole.

    Children ages 0-5, along with their caregivers, join us every Monday at 10:30 AM for early exposure to music! Have fun singing, dancing, listening to a story, and interacting with our new instruments! Program lasts about 30 minutes.
